a month agoThis place needs more recognition! Museum of Contemporary Art — what a beautiful art museum showcasing young local talents. Man, we need more of this! I loved how nice and peaceful the space was. It wasn’t just about aesthetics — as someone from the creative field, I felt genuinely happy seeing a place like this. Entry: RM10 per person. Remark for management – For the children’s art section, please consider adding their names. They deserve the credit!

3 weeks agoWe visited the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) and it was such a great experience! Everything was impressive, the exhibits, the atmosphere & the rooms were all comfortably air-conditioned. Totally worth the RM10 entrance fee. We spent around 1–2 hours exploring the museum and there was so much to see. It’s definitely a must-visit spot for art lovers! MOCA showcases a wide range of contemporary artworks from local and international artists. You’ll find paintings, sculptures, mixed media pieces, and digital art that reflect modern themes; from personal identity and social issues to cultural heritage and abstract concepts. The museum is designed to make you think, feel and sometimes even interact with the art. Each room offers a different vibe and story, making the visit a truly inspiring journey through today’s artistic landscape.

2 weeks agoI truly appreciate the warm hospitality from Mr Amirul and the older staff member who welcomed me so kindly. Their service was excellent. I arrived around 12 noon and was informed that the museum would be closing for a break from 1 to 2 pm, so I managed to explore one section out of three. After 3 pm I came back using the same ticket to visit the other 2 museums. During the break, I dropped by Luth Café next door for some tasty coffee and pie, then headed to the nearby mosque for Friday prayers, where they were also selling local snacks and handicrafts (do dress modestly.. no shorts or exposed shoulders). The museum itself is definitely worth a visit. I just wish there were more descriptions provided for the beautiful traditional clothing and contemporary art pieces. Kutubkhanah Diraja Pahang (The Royal Library) was closed on the Sunday I visited, so I didn’t get the chance to go inside. I really appreciate that they featured fashion designs and drawings by local children artists, especially those that highlight the beauty of Borneo. It’s rare to see these showcased, and I was glad to see artwork of Dayak and Kadazan being given space and recognition. If you're looking for a place with more historical artifacts, you might prefer the one in Pekan, Pahang. But for those wanting a stylish and Instagrammable experience, this spot is perfect for solo visitors, couples, or small families.
