Kuantan River Cruise

Ouh where do we begin? Booking - Seamless and fast via WhatsApp. PLEASE!!! Msg them for bookings because the trips are organised according to tide levels - may differ from stated timing on website. We booked just 2 hrs before our slot cos they still had available seats. The operator will provide all the needed info thru’ the number. You can make downpayment via different avenues too. Super legit and easy. Meeting Point - Google “Kuantan River Cruise Jeti Shahbandar” . Meet at least 10 minutes before the trip slot. Enter the gates to the platform where the boats are docked. Right side of the bridge is the meeting point (there’s a signage with your name listed if you’ve confirmed the booking). Take a seat. Fill up indemnity/manifest info form, and life jackets will be given soon after. The boat - Pink seats, with a table filled with yummy goodies: snacks, fruits & drinks (cold and rtp) in the middle. The seats were really cushiony, so it was comfy for the whole 2hrs. The tour - Pak Zainal wears specs. But he has eyes sharp as an eagle!🦅 He gave us a mission…join the tour to know the mission . So from the beginning, it was already FUN! He spoke English all the way, albeit with a slang, but the Aussie and Brit on our boat understood him fully. Pak Zainal spotted 9 crocs this trip, many monitor lizards, white chested eagles, Brahminy Kites, and more. His knowledge about the river activities; shipwrecks, fishing vessels, kampung life and not forgetting important info about crocs were immense. He was also outspoken about the trash in the river. He gave us ample warnings/heads up about where we’re heading and what were to expect. He wasn’t just a boatman. He was a really really good tour guide! Overall - suitable for kids 3 & up, adults to seniors and all nationalities. NO REGRETS booking last minute. Worth every penny!

A day after the trip, my kids still can’t stop talking about “Uncle Zainal’s sharp eyes” in spotting crocodiles. Thanks for making this a fun, memorable and informative trip, not just for the kids but for us adults too. We had little exposure to the way of life surrounding the river, so to have En Zainal share so much was a real eye opener. This excursion opened up another part of the world for us. Seeing how fishermen work, who they are, what they use, where they stay, really put things into perspective. I imagined their daily life through this arresting visual journey. Can’t help but to appreciate the immense socioeconomic value that water bodies bring to humankind

We really enjoyed the 2 hour night-time cruise on Kuantan River. The pilot of our boat shared interesting bits of information about the local fishing industry and boats. It was surprisingly interactive as we all (even the kids) got stuck in using flashlights to search for saltwater crocodiles on the river banks - it was surprisingly easy to spot them. Just look for the orange pinprick of light which was the torchlight reflecting back from the croc's eyes. We also had a go at using a red torch to imitate the mating signals to attract fireflies. Throughly enjoyable way to spend the evening if you're in the area.

Fantastic experience. We started off with a tour and information on the Kuantan fishing industry which was really interesting, but the real fun began at full dark, when we spent over an hour hunting crocodiles with torches and fireflies. The captain was good natured, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and hilarious. The trip included snacks, water and refreshments, which was a nice touch. It was a brilliant adventure that we will remember fondly.
