in the last weekThe Giant Turtle Mural, also known as “Penyu Gergasi Pantai Pelindung” (Giant Turtle of Pantai Pelindung), is a large-scale coastal rock artwork located at Pantai Tanjung Pelindung. It is painted directly onto naturally turtle-shaped rocks along the beach. The mural depicts a giant sea turtle (leatherback-inspired) spanning the rock surface, giving the impression of a living creature emerging from the shore. It was created by a group of Malaysian mural artists. I took a ride-hailing service, Grab, to this location. Since the mural is not marked on the Grab map, the nearest drop-off point is Sutravilla 2 Apartment. From there, it is about a 5-minute (300m) walk to the mural. After my visit, I managed to book a Grab ride out of the area, but it took around 25 minutes for a driver to arrive during midday on a weekday. 💡 Tips: 1) There is no shelter or toilet in the area. 2) Wear comfortable shoes, as you may want to climb over rocks to reach other parts of the beach.

in the last weekIf you're going to see the giant turtle, don't go to this spot! You'll see the giant turtle from this landmark. We walked along the beach for almost half an hour before realizing we'd gone to the wrong place. Locals said there's an entrance near Villa Resort that leads closer to the turtle. We really took a long, unnecessary detour!
